Yeast Infection During Pregnancy Worse After First Treatment?
I went to the doctor yesterday because of excess discharge. She said it was just a yeast infection and to use the 7 day OTC treatment. As soon as I used it discomfort set in. I had no other symptoms until I used the medication and now I’m going crazy.
I’m going to continue using it until I’m done with the treatment, but I’m worried about this infection during my pregnancy. Is it dangerous to my baby? Could the OTC medication be making it worse?

That’s funny, because I was just sort of diagnosed yesterday with the same thing because of excess discharge. But she said since I wasn’t showing any symptoms she wasn’t going to treat until they actually sent it to the lab to determine what it was and then at that point actually treat it. It could be they made an assumption that wasn’t totally right and you might actually need an antibiotic. I would call the doctor back and tell them the OTC stuff made it worse, that you had no symtoms initially and now it’s bad. Doesn’t hurt to try anyway and see what they say.
