Over the Counter Yeast Infection Treatments?
Is it safe to use OTC yeast infection treatments while pregnant? Been calling the doctor for 2 days with no reply. Left several messages.
I do know the difference between yeast infections and other medical problems. I have yeast and bladder infections with my other pregnancies. I just always had a better doctor then I have now.(moved to a different town after my last child was born)
There is a new doctor coming in Aug that I will be switching to. Right now this is a one horse town when it comes to pregnant women.

OK…no one is actually answering your question, so I will. Yes, Monistat or its generic equivalent is safe to use in pregnancy. Don’t insert the applicator too deeply. Skip the home remedies, they’re not going to cure an established yeast infection in a pregnant woman, and you don’t want it to get worse. My doctor recommended using the five- or seven-day treatments rather than the three-day treatments, because yeast infections during pregnancy can be tougher to get rid of (which is why eating yogurt is not going to cure one…though it may help keep future ones away).
