Is Canola Oil Safe for Your Vagina?
I have used the treatment from the drug store.. two actually. I had the monistat 7-day suppository one and the Canesten 3-day cream suppository one. They did not cure it, and I’m trying a homeopathic remedy. I know that the olive oil/tea tree oil one is supposed to work.
The question is not about how to treat a yeast infection, it’s about whether canola oil is safe.
I’m doing an at-home treatment for yeast infections and I was going to try soaking a tampon in olive oil and putting tea tree oil on top. I just checked my cupboard and all I have is an olive/canola oil combination. Is canola oil safe for my vagina or does it have some adverse effects that olive oil does not?

It may be safe. I don’t know. I doubt that it is effective. Go to the pharmacy, look for Monistat, next to it you will find the generic version. You will save about 1/3. It starts to work immediately. If symptoms persist, see a doctor.
You can really mess your system up with that homemade stuff. You could end up in a hospital or sterile. All because you read something on the Internet that said it was "natural."
I wouldn’t even use olive oil. Go to the store, the treatments are like 4-10 bucks.
No it is not safe.
Canola means a Canadian mix of oils, usually containing corn, soy, possibly peanut (not 100% sure of that) and others. If you are allergic to any type of oil, don’t use it, only use a pure oil.
That said…tea tree oil? Um…I’ve heard live yogurt cultures work better. Good luck.
When dealing with health and your body parts, especially when you are talking about inserting something, its better not to be cheap and go to the doctor. Get a prescription, or try over the counter vagisal or something.
No it has to have a PH level that’s to same as vaginal fluid pH
I have heard that yogurt works well for yeast.
No. It is not save. Don’t use it in your vagina even though it is touted as being an at-home treatment. Go to the any drug store and get any over the counter non-prescription treatment for yeast infections and use it as directed. The chemical combinations that are in the product are the best way to clear up a yeast infection. Don’t ever use any home remedy that goes inside your body because each person will react differently to a home remedy, and this is especially true in the vagina, where it is moist and harmful bacteria can spread and give you a painful infection that will need strong antibiotics to cure. The chemicals in the over the counter yeast infection kits are in the correct dosages and have the correct chemicals that will clear up the yeast infection. Use them, as that is why they are being sold without a prescription. In the event that your yeast infection doesn’t clear up in the time it states on the container, you will need to see a doctor who can give you the right antibiotic to treat the infection. Don’t use just any antibiotic you may have or one that someone else may give you, as there are specific antibiotics to treat specific types of infections, and by using too many different antibiotics your body may build up tolerance to a certain antibiotic because of too much use and the antibiotic won’t be effective in treating any new infection. Your vagina is a good breeding place for bacteria, so the sooner you start treatment, the sooner you will be cured of the yeast infection. This is very common in women, and you will find that there are various types and potencies of the the yeast infection treatments. I suggest you ask the pharmacist which one is the best, and even if it costs a little more to buy the best one, buy it, as it will do the job and you probably won’t have to go back and buy another treatment were you to use one that isn’t as good as the best one you could buy. Don’t short change your body for a few dollars. Be good to your body and it will be good to you.
